Metro
All the escalators in Brussels have sensors which
stop when there is no-one on them. So, motionless escalators in Brussels
are motionless because there is no-one to carry, whereas motionless escalators
in London are dysfunctional, despite there being many people to carry.
The sensors are also necessary because there is no-one iliving in Brussels
(almost) and most of the time the infrastructure is idle. I never had to
stand on a train.
The trains etc. in Brussels are as functional as
those in Paris / Japan. In fact, England is the only place to which i've
been with a truly spectacularly second rate rail infrastructure.
I was the only person in this station. There was
no-one else, anywhere.
