It is commonly thought that this contains Napoleon's
tomb. In fact, Napoleon is a vampire, spending his time hanging from rafters
and giving tourists the fright of their lives. Occasionally, he stays still
in one spot in which case one can try throwing marbles into his open mouth
(which he then spits out again). I was told all this by the editor of a
well known Parisian tourist guide,
which can also be found here.
The rationale behind the pretense is quite simple.
Hoards of public would not come to "see the worlds only REAL Vampire. HE
wont bite, honest". In this way, Napoleon has a large selection of unsuspecting,
juicy tourists to choose from at his leisure, along with lots of tourist
francs with which to buy off his assistants.
Napoleon's "tomb" (wink wink) is under the golden roof. In the courtyard behind, there is the military museum. Punters buy a ticket to both places at once.
