La Seine

The Seine is the river flowing throught the centre of Paris. There are two islands in the middle - ile de la Cité (larger with Notre Dame) and ile de Saint Louis (smaller). It is far more if a feature of the city than the Thames which was designed so that people could ignore it as much as possible because it stank. There are bateau mouches which go up and down with tourists (up and down the river, rather than cyclical sinking)

Bridges

Pont au Change is on the north side of  ile de la Cité.

Pont Neuf is the bridge you might have actually heard of before vising the place.

Pont des Arts is a pedestrian bridge near the Louvre.

Pont Solférino is a pedestrian bridge near the Jardin des Tuileries.

Pont Alexandre III is the one near the Grand Palais, and the Petit Palais.

Passerelle Debilly is along a bit.
